Friends of Slide Rock State Park

The Friends of Slide Rock State Park formed in April 2009 to provide charitable and educational support to Slide Rock State Park.  We are a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting, preserving and promoting appreciation and enjoyment of the historical, ecological, scenic, recreational and cultural resources of Slide Rock State Park.  We produce the annual Apple Fest as both an educational and fund raising activity as well as host professional projects, educational lectures and stewardship activities.  Our members volunteer to help with historical interpretation, restoration, ecological stewardship and fund raising to achieve our organizational goals, but more members are needed to help us reach our education and advocacy goals.   The Friends of Slide Rock State Park is dedicated to enhancing the visitor experience in support of the mission of Slide Rock State Park and maintains the highest standards in preserving the heritage of Oak Creek Canyon and Slide Rock State Park.
